Babies

Babies

When I first saw your little fingers
Tiny, soft, so pink and new
Felt your skin, and stroked your head
The love inside me grew and grew

When I held you closely to me
Smelt your hair and kissed your face
Nuzzled cheek to cheek and cuddled
The world seemed like a better place

When I first looked into your eyes
You looked so full of love at me
I cried with joy and swore to God
I’d love you for eternity.
