Exquisitely, extinguish me
With such a subtle look.
You only glanced my cover
Yet you think you've read the book

Find the shelf marked 'Mental Health'
And stand me in the line
But if you missed my story
Will you hear these words of mine?

One in four? Or many more?
But will they tell their tale?
For fear these cutting critics
Have condemned the script to fail

We stand together, side by side
All catalogued with shame
The product of the ones who hide
Lest they should read their name

But I see you and you see me
We chapters for the blind
I hear you through such silence
For we have these chains that bind

Our only means of self-respect
Is that made from ourselves
And those who haven't been here yet
Sit on some other shelves

Where 'Easy Reading' says it all
But easy come can go
The fact that we can stand at all
Is all we need to know
